Grapefruit, also called Shaddock, is a Citrus fruit, whose scientific name is Citrus Paradisi. It is also known by two other scientific names, Citrus Racemosa and Citrus Maxima. The later, is because of its big size. Like all other citrus fruits. Many of its medicinal properties match oils of other citrus fruits.
Grapefruit seed oil is cold pressed from the seeds of Citrus Paradisii fruit and is used for various medicinal and skin care benefits. Grapefruit seed oil is of clear color and has a faint odor, is rich in natural components that nourish and protect the skin, including vitamins A, C and E and various antioxidants. It also boasts essential phytonutrients -- such as lycopene, beta-carotene and bioflavonoids -- that promote cellular health.
